Hi, I’m Moustafa.

My whole career has been about turning raw data into decisions people can act on: first on drilling rigs, then in data platforms, and now with AI.

I came to data from geophysics. For eight years at Baker Hughes I monitored real-time drilling and wireline data on rigs in Egypt, the UAE and Australia, where spotting a small anomaly early could save a well, or a client millions. I then moved to Perth for doctoral research at Curtin University on shale-gas formation evaluation using Python and machine learning, and went on to work in Western Australia's mining and water sector.

That path led into data engineering and consulting. At DataDivers I delivered Snowflake, Azure, AWS and Power BI solutions for INX, Telethon Kids Institute, Arc Infrastructure, AFG and the WA Department of Mines, often turning a small proof of concept into a long-term partnership.

At Amplify-Now I built the reporting team from scratch, then led the company's AI enablement. I designed a self-improving knowledge and delivery system on Claude that now supports more than 50 colleagues across support, reporting, product and engineering. I am now researching how much of that AI work can run on local models.

How I work

• Measure it. I track cycle time, QA rounds and effort before and after a change, so the impact is a number, not a feeling.
• Make it repeatable. Standards, training and automation beat heroics.
• Keep humans in the loop. AI drafts and checks; people approve.
• Start small, prove value. A two-week POC is the best sales pitch I know.
